A local school has high tech dreams and needs your help.
Brookville Intermediate School is in the running for one of five grant prizes of up to $100,000 for a new science, technology, engineering and math center as part of the Northrop Grumman Foundation’s Fab School Lab Competition.
Students and staff even put together a scien-tastic music video to Silentó’s “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)“to drive that point home. It is pretty cute.
Here’s where you come in: the school needs you to cast a vote in its favor on its Facebook page on Friday, Nov. 20.
About 200 middle schools from around the nation applied to be part of the competition. With the help of an essay and two-minute video, Brookville made the cut and is now among 20 semifinalists.
“The vision for Brookville is to create a state-of-the-art design studio that contains robotics equipment, science kits, microscopes and other learning tools and provides a designated space for our students to learn. That’s what a Fab Lab is,” Brookville STEM teacher Katie Henry said in a press release. “Students will be able to create using art and technology.”
