In the battle between Biscuits and McMuffins, the victor is clear in Dayton.
“We are a muffin market,” said Lisa Baum, spokeswoman for McDonald’s Restaurants of the Miami Valley. “Overwhelming, our most popular breakfast sandwiches are our McMuffin sandwiches.”
McDonald’s restaurants start all-day breakfast Tuesday, Oct. 6.
But there’s a catch. McDonald’s had to make a biblical-sized decision that can divide households: McMuffin or Biscuit sandwiches?
Baum said restaurants could not do McMuffins AND Biscuits after regular breakfast hours end at 10:30 a.m.
“It is just about the equipment and avoiding cross-contamination, “she said. “There is limited space back there.”
The McMuffin will be sold as part of a limited all-day breakfast menu that also includes fruit and hash browns, fruit and maple oatmeal, hotcakes and sausage and sausage burrito.
The full menu will be available during breakfast hours as always.
Roughly 75 restaurants, those in the Dayton area included, make up the region.
