Terence Mason and his then girlfriend Dovie Poe said  “I do” on The Price is Right before hearing “come on down.”

The Dayton couple of 15-years —custodial workers for Centerville schools — were married  March 31 with dozens and dozens of other couples as part of a mass wedding officiated by Price is Right host Drew Carey.

The Cleveland native was ordained especially for the ceremony, which is set to air 11 a.m. Friday on WHIO channel 7.

The show is being billed as the first mass game show wedding. The Masons got tickets to the show and started planning a trip to California after hearing about the taping.

Logistics and family issues had kept them from marrying in the past.

Dovie is from Kentucky, but Terence is from Dayton. There was always fear that one family member or another would get left out of the ceremony if they had it here or there.

Terence said getting married on The Price is Right was ideal.

“This was stress free, it was about me and her,” he told me. “For me and her,  it worked out so perfect. Now you can be part of the wedding by turning on channel 7 at 11.”

Terence called the experience in Hollywood exciting. Drew Carey interacted with the audience and their was wedding music between commercial breaks. The new married couples were showered with confetti after being pronounced husbands and wives.

The Masons got a bigger treat.

“The big bonus was being called down called as contestants. That was exciting,” Terence said.

The couple was even interviewed for an Entertainment Tonight segment about the show. Terence credited the the Logos at Work T-shirts for grabbing the show’s attention.

The company used a font similar to one used by Price is Right, and replaced the “s” in “Team Mason” and “Just Married” with dollar signs.
