As clear as the day is long, the Gem City appears in “Uma Thurman,” a catchy and quirky track on rockers Fall Out Boy’s new album “American Beauty/American Psycho.”

The song is mostly about crushing on Uma Thurman (see post from Fall Out Boy’s Facebook page below), but it makes repeat mention to the Gem City, Dayton’s nickname since the 1800s.

“You’ll find your way
And may death find you alive
Take me down the line
In Gem City we turn the tide
You’ll find your way
And may death find you alive
Take me down the line
In Gem City we turn the tide”

Not sure what it all means or what the band connection to Dayton could be, but it is sure fun to talk about.
